I have the keyboard's audio output phonos plugged in to channels three and four of the Audiobox 1818VSL. When I create a new instrument track, I can see data coming in when I press a key, and I can record midi notes, but I hear absolutely no audio. I selected the Audiobox in the receive from and send to selection boxes. I have added the device in the external devices section and selected to use all channels. All I want to do is use my Roland SK-88 Pro to record the midi data so that when I play back the track (song) the midi track triggers the midi sounds from the keyboard's own embedded soundbank and feeds the audio in to a stereo pair (inputs three and four) of the 1818 VSL. I'd like to just make one thing clear up front. Enabling MIDI Clock Start will send MIDI Clock Start signals to your Instrument.Every time I look at Youtube or elsewhere to see how to get a midi keyboard to work all I see is answers about how to use one of the Presonus Studio One supplied instruments! You should send MIDI Clock to your Instrument if it has a built-in sequencer or components (such as LFOs) that need to sync to Studio One. You can choose to send MIDI Clock to this Instrument and/or use MIDI Clock Start by checking the appropriate boxes. Select the appropriate MIDI device from the drop-down menu for Send To and (optionally) Receive From. Specify the device to which StudioOne is sending MIDI and the device from which the software is receiving MIDI.If you’re unsure of which MIDI channel to select, select all 16. Specify which MIDI channels will be used to communicate with this Instrument. This will make using your New Instrument easier. If set to New Instrument, you may wish to type in a Manufacturer Name and a Device Name in the appropriate fields. Set this to New Instrument if you do not see your device in the list. In the left-hand browser, choose your device from the predefined device list.
